Union County law enforcement officials are desperately searching for the mother of a newborn infant who was left abandoned in a dumpster in the Monarch sector of Union County on Lockhart Road.
Law enforcement officials believe that the mother is a young, single parent who may be in imminent physical danger and in dire need of medical attention.
The dead infant still had the umbilical cord attached.
Several businesses nearby have surveillance video cameras that law enforcement officials will use to determine if there are clues as to who the mother of the deceased newborn could be.
Persons with information about the mother of the infant are encouraged to contact the Union County Sheriff's department.
