A Laurens County courtroom was the setting on Tuesday as former Bell Street Middle School teacher Allenna Williams Ward was sentenced to 6 years in prison.
Ward was charged in a plea bargain with 2 counts of second degree criminal sexual contact with a minor, and 3 counts of lewd acts on a minor.
The news concerning Ward surfaced last year when it was learned she had been arrested for sexual activity with 5 students between the ages of 14 and 15.
At first Ward maintained her innocence but changed her plea to guilty in a plea bargain arrangement with the Circuit Solicitor's Office.

If it were a man assaulting underage girls, he would have gotten the full 15 years in prison. US society consistently exhibits a pathological resistance towards hold women accountable for their personal destructive behavior.
